  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 lemon (halved)

Instructions

  1. Take the turkey out of the fridge and let it rest at room temperature for about an hour.
  2. In a bowl, combine softened butter with sage, thyme, rosemary, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
  3. Preheat your oven to 450°F.
  4. Remove giblets from the turkey cavity; pat dry and season inside and out with salt and pepper.
  5. Stuff the cavity with halved lemon pieces and garlic cloves. Rub the garlic herb butter all over the turkey skin.
  6. Place turkey on a roasting rack in a pan; lower oven temperature to 350°F after placing inside.
  7. Roast about 13 minutes per pound until the internal temperature reaches 165°F in the thickest part of the thigh.
  8. Allow turkey to rest for 20 minutes before carving.
